User Roles

User Roles are used to determine permissions and access within the Conexiom Portal.

There are four common User Roles: User, Super User, Dashboard User, and No User Role.

User rights differ according to the jobs team members perform. For example, a team member who exclusively works with exceptions doesn’t need administration rights. A team member who adds new users to the system, however, does need administration rights, so should be designated as a Super User.

Note: Administration rights include the ability to add, edit, and remove users from the portal, assign roles, and change User role permissions. However, these rights do not extend to editing Super User permissions.

Users

Depending on how they are setup, Users can either access all trading partners or only those who have been assigned to them. Typically, these are team members who manually enter documents into the ERP. They include roles like Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), sales staff, and accounts staff. Users cannot manage other users; typically only Super Users can. (See Super Users, directly below). However, users submit map requests, submit test documents, resolve alerts associated with their assigned trading partners, reprocess documents, and perform a variety of other advanced functions.

Super Users

Super Users can access all of the trading partners that are set up in a customer’s portal without having those trading partners assigned to them. They can perform any type of work that a User can, however, typically Super Users are administrators: they manage regular users in the portal, including adding them initially, removing them when appropriate, and, when necessary, modifying their access or their associated information. Super Users can also modify the user permissions defined here or ask the Help Desk to create other user profiles. See Setting User-Permission Profiles.

Dashboard Users

Dashboard Users are users that also have the ability to edit Dashboards.

No Role User

This user type can be customized and used without setting up a new custom user.
