How to download .xerp file to troubleshoot data that was sent to the ERP system
Objective
For troubleshooting the data that was sent to the ERP system when a document was processed, the .xerp file can be downloaded from the portal.
Resolution
1. Navigate to either the Production or Test documents tab of the Customer/Vendor you wish to investigate. You will see a screen that looks like the below:In the “Link(s)” column on the left-hand side there will be hyperlinks to files that relate to the document. The content of these files can be identified by their extensions:
- .EML – this will be a copy of the email that was sent to Conexiom for processing
- .PDF – this will a copy of the document that was attached to the original email.
- .XERP – this file contains that all of the information that was sent from Conexiom to the ERP
- .RESP – this file will contain the response that Conexiom received from the ERP when a document was delivered.
3. To open the XERP file, locate the file in in the folder it was downloaded to and then right click and select Open with.
4. When the pop up displays, select Notepad and check Always use this app to open .xerp files.
5. When the file is open the details of what was sent from Conexiom to the ERP will be visible:
These values can then be used to help troubleshoot the issue that is being faced. For example, if there is a query about the Ship To ID being set incorrectly then the Ship To ID that was sent from Conexiom could be located in the “ShipToId” field in the above file.
Note: File contents will vary depending on the ERP and how it is configured.
