Accessing Tools To Create Or To Modify Data-Transformation Statements

Access the right tool to create data-transformation statements (business-logic statements). With them, alter data in order to match ERP requirements. Create for individual trading partners or globally, for all of a customer's trading partners at the same time.

Data-Transformation Statements

Data-transformation statements (business-logic statements) allow you to systematically alter data to match the requirements of your ERP. You can create them for individual trading partners or create them globally, for all of a company's trading partners at once. Here are few examples:

  • Always Set the Ship-To Country to “US.”
  • If the unit or measure is listed as “Case,” set it to “CS.”
  • If the unit of measure is listed as a package, transform the listing to single units, changing the count of units to include how many pieces are in each package, and modify the unit price to correspond to the change.

Transformations for Individual Trading Partners

Note: These steps require Configuration Studio. If you do not have this application, and do not want to create transformations that apply to all of your trading partners, submit a change request to have the work performed by Conexiom.

To create data transformations to apply to only a single trading partner, follow these steps:

  1. Open Configuration Studio.
  2. In the work flow diagram in the header of the Configuration Studio screen, click the Business Logic tab.
  3. Click the Data Transformations sub-tab. Listings of data transformations display.

Those listings that are not shown next to a Lock icon apply to that trading partner alone. Those that are shown next to a Lock icon apply to all of that customer’s trading partners. To work with data transformations that apply globally, go to the next section.

  4. To create a new transformation, click Add Logic. To edit an existing transformation, click the Edit icon (Pencil) at the end of the corresponding row. The appropriate dialog box displays.
  5. When you have accessed the data-transformation tools, follow these instructions: Creating Data-Transformation Statements That Apply Globally or To Specific Trading Partners.
